". . .if you are not living on the edge you are taking up too much room."
- Ann Lamott, Author

One Story: Jenifer Novak Landers
While attending the University of Washington, I studied Fine Art and Psychology, keeping my foot in both schools until Art won my heart. I am forever between worlds, comfortable with not picking a team, and seeing the totality of everything, This is a gift AND a challenge, which plays out through many areas of my life. I became an Art Director in Seattle, and later discovered the exciting and challenging world of outside sales while working for a classy printing company. I was thrilled to use my passion for psychology getting to work closely with my clients AND using my passion for creativity working with their printing and advertising projects. . . ). I consulted, I created, and I formed powerful relationships with companies large and small based on creativity, marketing power and mutual success.
I moved back to California and built a top-salesperson career at another printing company. During these years I developed my small business expertise and helped launch countless marketing ideas and creative perspectives. I was lucky to spend several years spearheading innovative projects while working in sales and business development. I learned first-hand how creative environments function and thrive, and what it takes for people to be at the top of their game.
My inner artist began needing more attention so I launched a line of greeting cards, illustrated an award winning children's book, and after painting murals in one too many of my friend's baby's rooms, I established a decorative painting studio to beautify walls in the entire Bay Area. My murals were in demand both residentially and commercially. I painted murals and inspired my clients full-time for over 10 years. It was good to take care of my needy inner artist.
Fifteen wildly creative years later I became a new mother and my inner psychologist needed more attention. My life has been an ongoing series of personal development adventures, including a long list of workshops, retreats, seminars, educational experiences, and mentors who showed up at perfect moments. Feel free to ask.
A book about "LIFE COACHING" fell off a friend's bookshelf one afternoon so that I could discover an alternative to getting my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, which I was enthusiastically pursuing following my divorce.
While I was resistant to writing papers about psychology statistics, I was inspired to use my talents to help people find clarity and receive accountability, inspiration or whatever is most needed to move forward.
I attended the Ford Institute for Integrative Coaching at JFK University for my professional coaching certification. I launched "Fully Expressed Potential" in 2006 to combine my creativity expertise AND my personal development wisdom. My needy inner psychologist is well served.
I am now committed to giving executives, entrepreneurs, and creative people a supportive and inspiring structure in which to launch and sustain their goals/desires/vision. Lucky me, getting to live my dream.
